The Block E classroom and training rooms have been upgraded with an advanced HVAC system designed to provide high-efficiency heating, cooling, and ventilation, while accommodating the unique space constraints of the mechanical closet.<\/p>\n

At the heart of the retrofit is a low-profile Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV)<\/strong> that preconditions incoming fresh air by transferring energy from the exhaust air. This significantly reduces the energy demand for heating and cooling fresh air. The ERV\u2019s compact design was essential for installation within the limited mechanical space, ensuring easy servicing and maintenance access.<\/p>\n

The system also features Variable Refrigerant Volume (VRV) heat pumps<\/strong>, which deliver efficient heating and cooling with the added capability of heat recovery. This allows for simultaneous heating and cooling across different zones, recovering heat from one zone to condition another. The cold climate Aurora models ensure reliable performance even in extreme temperatures, maintaining up to 85% of nominal heating capacity at -25\u00b0C and 60% at -30\u00b0C.<\/p>\n

This retrofit represents a modern approach to creating comfortable, energy-conscious indoor environments, even in harsh climates.<\/p>\n
