The goal of the renovation of this historic, 18 floor building was to provide a cost effective, retro-fit HVAC system. The small roof footprint, existing pipe chases, and low startup and operating costs made VRV the perfect choice. A 500 ton Daikin VRV heat recovery system was installed, with horizontal ducted FCUs and Daikin enthalpic plate ERVs for ventilation air requirements. DXS worked with the owner to install the units floor by floor as they gained tenants, further saving them money, and avoiding the extra time and expense of replacing the building’s existing chiller.
