Restoration Hardware recently constructed a new four-story, 48,000-square-foot gallery at the Domain in Austin, TX. Building owners were seeking energy-efficient HVAC equipment that could incorporate energy recovery ventilation (ERV) to precondition incoming outside air in a commercial VRF system. DXS was chosen to provide the store with an HVAC system based on their VRF experience and familiarity with Daikin equipment.<\/p>\n
The building was equipped with nine Daikin VRV heat recovery condensing units ranging from 10 to 28 tons. The system also featured one 3-ton Daikin VRV Heat Pump Condensing Unit, and one 305 CFM Daikin ducted split system, which were both chosen to meet zoning and efficiency needs. 37 Daikin VRV ceiling-mounted fan coil units ranging from 560 \u2013 1,624 CFM completed the system and were ideal for their interfacing ability and heat recovery branch selectors, as well as their ability to serve multiple areas throughout the building.<\/p>\n
DXS was required to meet custom needs for this project, and hardware modifications were necessary in order to fit the rooftop unit to a tight space. The store\u2019s needs were accommodated, and the completed project met energy efficiency, scheduling, and budgeting requirements.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
