Kleiman Evangelista Eye Center in Dallas, TX needed a specialized HVAC system for their room dedicated to performing Lasik eye surgeries. This space requires that the relative humidity level be maintained within a very specific range to create the proper conditions for surgery. DXS was tasked with providing a cost-effective system with controls that could maintain the humidity for the individual space.<\/p>\n
DXS worked with Dallas Mechanical Group to equip the facility with 20 tons of Daikin VRV heat recovery systems, including six ducted indoor air handling units and a Daikin i-Touch manager with a WAGO system for controls. Because of the specialized nature of the building space, a custom Daikin controls solution was necessary. A WAGO system was implemented and paired with a humidity sensor inside the room, and then tied into the Daikin i-Touch manager to force a fan coil to activate its Dry Mode when the humidity became too high. The i-Touch manager provided the required flexibility and power for the project, and was able to be implemented with both new and existing equipment.<\/p>\n
