159 Forward Avenue in Ottawa, Ontario, represents a cutting-edge approach to sustainable building design. As a fully electric building, it embodies the principles of electrically driven sustainability, meeting the highest standards for energy efficiency and environmental responsibility. Designed as a Passive House performance building, it significantly reduces the energy required for space heating and cooling, setting a new benchmark for eco-friendly construction practices. With all heating, cooling, and ventilation systems powered electrically, this building showcases the potential of innovative technologies to minimize environmental impact while maximizing comfort and efficiency.

DXS Supplied the following equipment:

  • 50-tons Daikin VRV air-cooled heat pumps with heat recovery for space heating and cooling
  • 51 Daikin Ducted VRV fan coils
  • 16-tons Daikin VRV air-cooled heat pump for ventilation air heating and cooling
  • 4800 cfm Tempeff dual-core ERV for ventilation supplied by HTS
  • 80 kW PVI domestic hot water heater with 119-gallon tank supplied by HTS
  • 70 GPM Bell and Gossett booster pump package supplied by HTS
