Charlton Health required an HVAC refresh that would minimize disruption to the occupied building while re-using existing ductwork. A 120-ton air-cooled VRV system was installed, serving DX coils inside the existing duct infrastructure. A new supply fan and four 30-ton DX coils were added to deliver energy-efficient heating and cooling to the corridor spaces of the 8-storey building.

As part of the upgrade, the gas-fired heater was removed and replaced with VRV-connected DX heating coils, helping reduce reliance on fossil fuels while improving overall energy performance.

• DX (Direct Expansion) Coils
