Description

The University of Toronto Scarborough Campus selected Daikin VRV systems for their project due to their ability to utilize a geothermal loop, taking advantage of a wide range of entering water temperatures. This system is exceptionally quiet and supports simultaneous heating and cooling across multiple zones, ensuring consistent comfort throughout the building.

The project significantly contributes to decarbonization by using a geothermal loop to exchange heat with the Daikin VRV systems. As a heat recovery system, it efficiently recovers heat from server rooms to warm other areas of the building during winter. This innovative approach meets Toronto Green Standards, reflecting the University’s commitment to sustainability.

DXS supplied the following equipment:

  • 340-tons of Daikin Water-Cooled Heat Recovery VRF connected to a Geothermal Loop
  • Haakon Air Handling Units with hydronic coils and heat recovery wheels supplied by HTS
  • Aermec Water-to-Water heat pumps supplied by HTS
