The Woburn Department of Public Works sought to replace an aging air handling unit and transition to an all-electric HVAC system as part of a broader decarbonization effort. VRV technology was selected as the optimal solution to meet the building’s heating and cooling requirements in this retrofit application.

This project was a collaborative effort between CTI, HTS, and DXS—CTI provided controls integration, HTS supplied the air handling unit, and DXS delivered the cold climate heat pump VRV system.

By eliminating reliance on gas heating and switching to an all-electric system, the installation supports Woburn’s decarbonization goals while improving long-term system efficiency.

DXS supplied the following equipment: 

• Daikin Preciseline Air Handling Unit with Integral VRV Coil
• 10-Ton Daikin VRV Heat Pump Condensing Unit
