The Canada Life Fitness Centre required an updated HVAC solution to improve efficiency within a historic building with an aging system. Daikin VRV technology was selected for its ability to provide an engineered integration with the Haakon Air Handling Unit, an approach that has been successfully applied on similar systems. The new fully inverter-driven VRV condensing units can modulate operation based on demand, providing a more efficient solution compared to the previous system while supporting the long-term performance of the facility.

HTS/DXS supplied the following equipment:

• Two 20-ton Daikin VRV Emerion Heat Pump Condensing Units
• Custom DX Coils with Daikin Expansion Valves and Controllers
• Custom Haakon Air Handling Unit with Fans, UV Light Chamber, and Filter Section
