Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church opened a new facility in Austin that required highly efficient equipment to result in low energy bills for the congregation. In addition, due to the wide range of events and schedules at the church, a control system was needed that would allow for independent temperature control for all areas to maintain comfort at various times of the day.
DXS worked with M Tech, Chasco, and Jose Guerra to equip the facility with a Daikin VRV IV system with 64 tons of heat recovery and 16 tons of heat pump utilizing ducted units, as well as a 20-ton 100% outdoor air unit. An iTouch Manager was also used for both the VRV and outdoor air units. The facility was able to qualify for rebates from Austin Energy and receive the functionality of a building management system at a reasonable price.
