Memorial Lutheran Church

  • Project Location: Katy, TX
  • Owner/Client: Memorial Lutheran Church
  • Project Description:

Memorial Lutheran Church of Katy, TX began construction on a new building for their campus in 2016. The building, which is set to house the church’s preschool classrooms and offices, was fitted between existing buildings, leaving no ground space and creating challenges for installing an air conditioning system. The original system selected for the building was unable to meet budget requirements, and DXS had to step in to find a quick solution that would put the job back on track.

By working with mechanical engineer DVO, DXS was able to offer Daikin equipment that would meet the facility’s needs of an outdoor unit with a small footprint. The building was provided with a Daikin VRV heat pump system with an iTouch controller, and Addison 100% outdoor air rooftop units. The system was completed with grilles, fans, and additional airside equipment.

Non-Profit Key Considerations

Unlike other markets, buildings in the non-profit sector don’t fit into a tidy framework. They might be professional office buildings, multi-family structures, former city or county offices or even an old school. Rather than a structural or user challenge , the need to reduce operating costs and renovate existing buildings remains consistent with our non-profit clients.  We appreciate their budget constraints and work with them to install and maintain VRF air conditioning systems that offer superior AC and heating while keeping their energy bills low.

Key Considerations

  • Energy efficient system lowers on-going energy costs
  • Opportunity to reduce overall building construction cost
  • Energy and cost models that can help secure grants and government funding
  • DXS onsite at five key junctures:  onsite training prior to installation, quality control checks during installation, during start-up, 30 days after commissioning for building owner verification, and ongoing training for staff
  • Fast, dependable service and maintenance support after installation
  • Complete inventory of parts and equipment stocked locally
