North Oak Middle School

Birdville ISD recently renovated its North Oak Middle School campus in Haltom City, Texas. The existing console units in the renovated wing were outdated and deteriorating, and the school district was looking for an energy efficient solution that could be easily fitted into their existing system. DXS was chosen as basis of design for the project based on the level of design and their experience working with MEP Engineer IEG.

The school was equipped with 28 tons of Daikin VRV heat recovery, including 11 cassettes with self-cleaning decoration panels. North Oak is one of the first schools to utilize the self-cleaning filter panels provided on the 3’ by 3’ cassettes, which allow for significantly less maintenance time and cost, as well as a 30 percent increase in efficiency. DXS was able to overcome scheduling challenges in order to provide equipment in a timely manner and reduce the construction time of the project.
