The Galveston Park Board purchased a historic building in downtown Galveston for its new headquarters. The old building left little room for mechanical space and the client placed a premium on energy conservation in the new facility. The Daikin VRV/VRF heat recovery system was selected for the project to meet these requirements. During the evaluation process, the mechanical contractor asked DXS for assistance in comparing the Daikin 3-pipe heat recovery distribution network to a consolidated “all-in-one” solution from a competitor. At the end of the evaluation, the contractor realized a reduction in more than 5,000 feet of refrigerant piping by utilizing the Daikin VRV/VRF system over the competition.
