This building was being renovated due to a lack of structural support for the existing air handling units serving it. The owners were looking for new energy-efficient equipment that would not require any further structural bracing or require cutting into existing trusses. As the basis of design, DXS needed to provide a budget-friendly HVAC system that would fit the existing structural limitations of the building. Since church services are held in this environment, unit noise was also a very important driver.
Thirty-two tons of Daikin heat pump systems serving 10 Daikin ductless air handlers, including wall-mounted and ceiling cassette units, were installed on a very short timeline. The contractor had many people who had never worked with this equipment, and we were able to accommodate those needs with a private training class for the full workforce.
