Kleiman Evangelista Eye Center in Dallas, TX needed a specialized HVAC system for their room dedicated to performing Lasik eye surgeries. This space requires that the relative humidity level be maintained within a very specific range to create the proper conditions for surgery. DXS was tasked with providing a cost-effective system with controls that could maintain the humidity for the individual space.

DXS worked with Dallas Mechanical Group to equip the facility with 20 tons of Daikin VRV heat recovery systems, including six ducted indoor air handling units and a Daikin i-Touch manager with a WAGO system for controls. Because of the specialized nature of the building space, a custom Daikin controls solution was necessary. A WAGO system was implemented and paired with a humidity sensor inside the room, and then tied into the Daikin i-Touch manager to force a fan coil to activate its Dry Mode when the humidity became too high. The i-Touch manager provided the required flexibility and power for the project, and was able to be implemented with both new and existing equipment.
